Description

This model is based on Tim Severin’s boat ‘The Brendan’. In 1976, he built a leather-hulled curach based on the description from a 9th century manuscript “The Navigaco” of St. Brendan the Navigator’s travels. St. Brendan was reputed to have discovered America before Columbus.

Woods used: beech, purple heart, cedar of Lebanon, walnut oak, oak, bog oak.
